19 viewsSunday the 15th of July was about a week before the big Mt Whitney Hike, so we took it easy and only climbed to just over 10,000 ft. Kylie joined us!

29 viewsThe trees along this stretch of hike were the most interesting of any of our hikes through the Spring Mountains.

18 viewsBack down the hill to where we started.

37 viewsParking lot of the North Loop trail. We got a late start that day, so by the time we finished there were long shadows. We will have to finish this hike someday, to take us past the oldest Bristlecone Pine in Nevada, and back down Trail Canyon.

27 viewsSomewhere in this picture is a HUGE buck that charged Kylie. We heard Kylie traipsing through the forest, then silence. When we peered around a tree, she was face to face with an enormous buck, which jumped at her! She took off back towards us, and the deer began to follow but then saw us standing there, turned, and bounded into the forest. Kylie was none the worse for wear.
