27 viewsThis is Sunday morning at our campsite. The rain finally stopped long enough for us to make breakfast of hot tea and Granola. Our Eureka! tent kept us warm and dry! You can see the bear box on the right. The bear that visited us on Saturday night was just to the right of this picture. We didn't see it because our tent door faced the wrong way, but our neighbors chased it away.

26 viewsWe drove West out of the valley, then back East on Glacier Point Rd. We made a 1.1 mile hike (1 way) to Sentinel Dome, where you have a spectacular view of the whole area. You can see Half-Dome behind Briar.

24 viewsFacing N-NW, you can see the sheer cliff of El Capitan, which at 3000 ft is the tallest unbroken cliff face in the world. No wonder it takes multiple days to climb it! You sleep while attached to the ropes!

33 viewsWe then drove to Glacier Point, and took the short walk to the overlook. This provides the best view of the hike we took on Saturday. You can see the 594 ft tall Nevada falls on the lower right of the photo.

47 viewsDon't get caught speeding in the park. The forest rangers will patronize you: "Slow down- it's icing up." The road was dry.

36 viewsCamera card full! This is along Rt 6, which heads East into Nevada. If you click on the picture to enlarge, you can see a small rainbow just right of center. The rain clouds were scattered, and at the time it wasn't even raining on us. The freshly snow-capped mountains made for great scenery as we headed back to the desert!
